Your Substack, on schedule. Every single week.
Pressmark is a Mac app for Substack writers. Point it at the folder where you write. It plans your calendar, prepares every post for Substack, queues your Notes and LinkedIn posts, and lines up the conversations worth joining each morning.
- Your files stay on your Mac
- Nothing posts without your OK
- 14 days free, no card
November
Writing is the part that matters.
Yet the hours go to everything around it: moving drafts into Substack, keeping a cadence, posting the same idea in three places, and showing up in other writers' comments.
The copy and paste week
Every post is the same routine: paste, fix the formatting, find a cover, write the email subject, schedule, then write the Notes and the LinkedIn post by hand.
A backlog nobody sees
You have more finished drafts than published posts. Without a calendar that plans itself, they sit in a folder while the weeks go quiet.
Growth by scrolling
Finding the right writers and conversations takes an hour a day. Most of it is reading posts you will never reply to.
Know what to fix first.
Pressmark reads your publication the way an editor and a growth coach would: your positioning, your posts, your rhythm, your Notes, your network and how readers subscribe. You get a score, a short list of fixes ranked by impact, and drafts to make them. It checks again every two weeks, so you see what worked.
- Six areas, scored against what is known to work on Substack
- Every tip says how strong the evidence behind it is
- Drafted rewrites for your description, About page and titles
Your score is free. The full report comes with Pro.

- High impact
Turn on recommendations. Recommend five writers you read. Writers who recommend others are about three times more likely to be recommended.
5 min - High impact
Say who it is for. Your description names a topic but not a reader. A rewrite is drafted.
10 min - Medium
Add subtitles. 7 of your 12 posts have none.
20 min
From your folder to a full week, in one sitting.
Keep writing where you write today. Pressmark does the publishing work around it, and asks before anything goes out.
Point it at your folder. It finds your posts.
Markdown files, an Obsidian vault, a Git repo or a Substack export. Pressmark reads the layout, titles, dates and status, and shows you what it found before anything is saved.
- No new format to learn, no files moved
- Starting fresh? It creates a ready folder with templates
- Your published Substack posts are matched to their drafts
Plan the calendar. Queue the week.
Pick your cadence and the days you publish. Pressmark fills the calendar from your backlog, skips holidays and blackout dates, and drafts the Notes and LinkedIn posts that go with each piece.
- Web, email and mobile previews before anything is scheduled
- Covers and graphics drawn from your brand kit
- A week of Notes reviewed in one pass, not 40 minutes of clicking
Most newsletters stall from inconsistency, not from bad writing.
QueuedNew post: why slow newsletters win. The short version first.
QueuedThree questions I ask before every essay.
QueuedA reader asked how I find time to research. My answer.
QueuedFive pieces that changed my mind this month.
QueuedKnow who to engage with, every morning.
Pressmark finds the people and posts that match what you write about, then lines up the follows, likes, restacks and replies worth making. Each comes with a reason and a draft in your voice that links your related post. Accept them all, or edit any first.
- Who to follow, what to like and restack, and why
- Replies and restack notes that link your own posts
- Welcome messages for new subscribers, ready to send
Small teams should stop writing weekly newsletters
A weekly cadence forces filler. Fewer, deeper issues kept his readers opening, and replies doubled after he moved to every other week.

Built for writers, not bots.
We love Substack because the writing is good. Pressmark helps good writing reach more readers, and it will never flood Substack with noise. Automate the busy work, steer every step, or do it all by hand. You decide.
Every action has a dial: off, suggest, guided or send for me. You set it per action, within daily limits and working hours, and one switch pauses everything. Messages are always yours to send.
Drafts that only say “great post” are stopped. Every reply has to engage with the actual argument, and links to your own posts are kept to a sensible share.
Pressmark measures conversations started, replies received and readers who come back. Not vanity likes.
Drafts learn from your own posts, and comments wait for your edit before they go anywhere. It helps you write, it does not write for you.
It suggests lifting up smaller writers in your niche, with a restack or a recommendation, and nothing expected back.
Your writing, your keys and your Substack session stay on your Mac. Nothing is held on our servers.
Bring your own AI. Keep your own data.
Pressmark works with the models and tools you already use. Pick a cloud model, run one on your Mac, or use none at all. Your assistant can work with Pressmark too.

Good questions, plain answers.
Is Pressmark made by Substack?
No. Pressmark works with Substack, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Substack Inc.
Is Pressmark a bot for Substack?
No, and it never will be. We built Pressmark because we love what Substack is: a place for writing worth reading. Pressmark takes the busy work off your hands so you have more time for that writing and for real conversations. You decide how much it does, and nothing goes out without you.
Does Pressmark post for me?
Only what you approve. Scheduling a post or sending an email always asks you to confirm first. Likes, follows, restacks and replies are suggested, and you accept them one by one or all at once. By default each one opens in Substack ready to go. You can let Pressmark send approved ones itself, within the limits you set. Messages are always sent by you.
Do I have to change how I write?
No. Keep your Markdown files, Obsidian vault or Git repo as they are. Pressmark reads the layout you already have. If you are starting fresh, it can create a content folder with templates and instructions for your writing assistant.
Is my writing uploaded anywhere?
No. Pressmark runs on your Mac and reads your files there. Your Substack session and keys stay in the macOS Keychain. If you use AI features, text goes only to the model provider you choose.
How does the Substack audit work?
It reads your public Substack pages, posts and Notes, within the same careful limits as everything else, and checks them against what is known to work: Substack's own guidance and large studies of posts and Notes. Your score is free. Pro shows every fix with drafts and runs the audit again every two weeks. Scores are a guide, not a promise.
How does Pressmark use AI?
Pressmark drafts comments, replies, Notes and summaries with the AI model you connect and run under your own account, for example the claude command line on your own subscription. Every draft is marked as an AI draft. Nothing is sent or posted without your approval, and you can edit every draft first. AI can be wrong, so read before you send. Your drafts go only to the model provider you chose, never to us. You need your own account with a supported model provider; its costs and terms are yours.
Which AI does it use?
Your choice: Claude through your own subscription, an API key from Anthropic or OpenAI, or a local model through Ollama or LM Studio. Planning, previews and scheduling work without any AI.
Could this get my Substack account in trouble?
Pressmark is careful by design. Nothing social is automated, and every action that touches a platform stays within the limits on your Safety page, set to Cautious from the start.
What happens after the 14 days?
You move to Free, which schedules one post a month, unless you subscribe or buy Pressmark once. Nothing is deleted, and posts already scheduled in Substack still go out.
What does buying once include?
Pressmark as it is on the day you buy it, yours to keep on two Macs, with no subscription. Moving to a new Mac is one click: remove the old one in Settings. New versions are not included, and features that rely on Substack can stop working if Substack changes. You can move to Pro at any time.
Does it run on Windows or iPhone?
Pressmark is a Mac app for macOS 14 and later. Tell us on the early access form if you need another platform, so we know where to go next.
When can I start?
Early access opens in small groups, founding members first. Join the list and we will email you when your place opens.
Spend the week writing, not scheduling.
